Connecting Rural Businesses With Fixed Wireless
How many rural businesses are without access to broadband internet? It’s difficult to tell. Broadband deployment numbers typically talk about residents. In 2020, the FCC estimated that nearly 30 million Americans don’t have broadband access. Unfortunately, not everyone trusts the FCC numbers. In 2021, BroadbandNow Research estimates that over 42 million Americans are without access to broadband services, and they claim that the FCC numbers are underreported.
Though the numbers may vary, the bottom line is that broadband access isn’t available to a large number of Americans, and we can only assume that a good portion of those Americans are trying to run businesses in rural areas.
